About First Principles

Do you feel like you have to choose between a fun approach to learning music, and actually reaching your goals? At FP we are out to change that idea by providing our students with an innovative framework that emphasizes understanding, intuition, and creativity, which lead to the passion and motivation to practice.  

Students at FP can choose to focus on many insturments and styles. Classical, Jazz, Rock, Pop are all offered, but what sets us apart is the special foundation in musicianship and theory we provide to all our students. In addition to instruction, we also provide all the resources you need including our own custom lesson books.

If students can learn to understand the music they love, they can take charge of their own learning. Emphasis on solfège, literacy, theory, and chamber skills as well as instrumental technique set us apart.
